Bucket List or Wish List - Where Do You Want To Go?

If I were to win the lottery, there's a number of things I'd do with the money. After paying bills & giving some to charity, I'd indulge in a bit of traveling.

I've already visited most of the western and southern United States, plus Canada and Mexico. I've gone to the Caribbean a number of times, and visited several countries in Europe.

However, there are many more places I wish to visit, and things I wish to experience. So, I've made a travel bucket list.

Have you?

Mt. Rushmore - South Dakota

Mt. Rushmore is a wonderful tribute to four of our Presidents and to the United States of America. Knowing how difficult it was to create this monument, plus all the hours put into the design & building makes it a great tribute to those who worked on this project.

Yosemite National Park - California, USA

I've heard that Yosemite is a great park for camping, hiking and boating. It also has spectacular waterfalls, and many species of wildlife. A great place to experience nature and all it has to offer!

Antarctica

I can't imagine a more beautiful and pristine place than Antarctica! Cold, yes, but worth it! I simply wish to stand on the ice and look out over the ocean, to see if the white & blue is as striking as it is in photos. Seeing penguins, whales, sea lions and birds would be an added bonus!

Great Barrier Reef - Off the Coast of Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef, and can be seen from outer space. Since I have no intention of taking a space flight, I'll have to experience it at sea level.

As one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Reef is made up of almost 3000 individual reefs, and about 900 islands. It is amazing that something this big is alive; made up of literally hundreds of thousands of coral animals. These organisms attract all types of sea creatures - turtles, fish, dolphins and whales - so that the water surrounding the Reef is teeming with life. I'd love to snorkel or Scuba dive in the waters, and see what lies beneath the surface!

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

Canada & United States

The force of the water crashing down over the top of the Falls is a sight I'd like to experience. I can only imagine how loud it must be, and how cool the mists are that emanate from the water when it hits the bottom below.

Why anyone would venture over the Falls in a barrel or cross it on a tightrope is beyond my comprehension. I'd rather enjoy it from a viewing platform, or a boat ride at the bottom.

Machu Picchu - Peru

Source

Machu Picchu is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is one of the most visited sites in Peru. It is believed by many that Machu Picchu was originally a religious site, because of it's location in the mountains. Like Easter Island and Mt. Rushmore, it showcases artistic and construction feats that are beyond my imagination. I can only wonder how they built cities such as this, when they had no modern tools like we do today.
